Looking forward to an exciting 2017

Since my last Blog, I have been extremely busy! As the 2016 wedding season drew to a close I received great news that I had been selected as one of the top 20 Photographer Finalists in the National Wedding Awards 2017. This was the first time I had ever entered a competition and to be nominated as a finalist was so exciting. Me and my partner attended the awards ceremony, which was so much fun! Unfortunately I didn't win, however just being nominated was a great honor and I would defiantly consider entering some more awards in the future.

Following another brilliant wedding season, as always in the run up to Christmas the wedding album orders come flying in, a really busy time for me, designing all my wonderful bride and grooms albums so they receive them in time to show to friends and family during the holidays. I have a wide range of different albums and parent album packages for my clients, which are always greatly received they are locally supplied and of exquisite quality.

Also during the run up to Christmas I have a growing number of clients contacting me for portrait and family photo shoots, giving the images as part of Christmas presents for friends and family.

As we start 2017, and January comes to an end, I am keeping busy with plenty of meetings with new couples for future bookings. I have also been working lots of new Artwork for my promotional material and updating my website.

Really looking forward to an exciting new year, I have bookings at some new venues which I really enjoy, having the opportunity to see new places is excellent.

A summer wedding - Laura and Dave Stephens

The wedding of Laura and Dave Stephens, well the sun was shining from start to finish, what an absolutely stunning day!

The Bridal prep began at the Marriott Hotel, Waltham Abbey, when I arrived hair and make up were in full swing. Laura was positively glowing, with the excitement of the day looming emotions were running high.

After documenting the bridal preparations with all the girls and mum and dad getting ready, I made my way to Gaynes Park, where the ceremony, and reception were to be held.

On arrival I met Dave, Ralphie and Sydney. We gathered the ushers and best men to do some shots of all the boys, together with Dave’s mum and dad, In the courtyard area, where the bridal suite is situated.

I must say Gaynes is one of my favourite venues, the gardens and setting are exquisite with so many beautiful areas for photos its hard to choose where to go next!

After guests had gathered in the Orangery, we eagerly anticipated the arrival of Laura and her bridesmaids, Laura would be getting into her dress at Gaynes Park in the cottage. There was traffic on the way and Laura was in a rush, on arrival she got into her dress as quick as she could.

When everyone was ready we made our way to the bottom of the garden, the weather was stunning, emotions were high as the page boys, bridesmaids and Laura and her dad, made there way down the long walk to the Orangery.

After the ceremony I took Laura and Dave off for a few shots alone in the gardens as everyone got settled with there drinks and canapés.

When we returned we started the group shots and finished then with the all important confetti shot .

After dinner, we ceased the opportunity to get some lovely shots before dusk drew in, I love this time of day was a lovely warm summers evening.

The evening started with a beautiful first dance from Laura and Dave, after cutting their cake.

It was an absolutely stunning day, it was an absolute honour to be able to document the day for the new Mr and Mrs Stephens.

“Thank you, absolutely love the photos they are fab! love them all”

Jenna and Mark - June 2015

Three Lakes, Westmill Farm, Ware, Hertfordshire

Jenna and Mark had booked me for half a day wedding coverage, so I began the day at the venue Three Lakes, Westmill Farm, skipping the Bridal prep. I have covered this venue many times over the past few years, the staff are always friendly and really great with allowing enough time for photography. I really love the backdrop of the outside ceremony area looking over the lovely countryside and of course the Lakes, I always get some lovely shots there.

So I started by photographing Mark, with his dad and best man, his brother. We used the gardens and had a bit of a laugh with some fun natural shots of Mark and the boys.

After capturing the arrival of the guests and them taking their seats, it was time to shoot the arrival of Jenna and her bridesmaids. They had a beautiful white Rolls Royce.

After capturing some images of Jenna and the girls with the car, it was nearly time for the ceremony. After the usual formalities with the registrar, I grabbed some natural shots as they gathered to walk down the aisle.

Placing myself at the front, I met Mark full of emotion. I feel I captured this moment as Mark's brother offered a supporting arm asJenna made her way down the aisle.

After the ceremony, as canapés were served, I used this as an opportunity to grab some informal shots of the guests and time for Jenna and Mark to greet their friends and family and relax.

We then began shooting the formal group shots of them both as well as family and friends.

My day concluded with the speeches, I must say one of my favourite parts of any wedding as I can capture some great expressions.

It was a lovely way for Jenna and Mark's story of their day to come to a close.

I would like to thank them both for choosing me to capture their day and wish them all the best for the future.

Jenna's facebook review

My First Blog :)

After a busy summer, of weddings near and far flung! I have realised that everyone and their mum has turnt their hand at blogging. I can understand its a great way to keep you all up to date on what I have been up to! If i am honest, it is something I have been apprehensive about as my grammar isn't the best, hopefully not too many mistakes so far.

Over the next few weeks, in between the last few weddings I have as we creep into autumn. I will be sharing with you, some of the great weddings, events and portraits I have been shooting over the past year. As well as the albums I am producing for my Brides and Grooms of 2015.

I look forward to sharing with you, and would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has booked me, it is an honor to capture your special moments.
